Nope. And if institutional funders aren’t giving multi-year operating-expense grants now, what can we possibly expect in the years to come when they’re struggling with reduced endowments?
The Nonprofiteer usually scoffs when she hears people ask whether the nonprofit model even makes sense anymore: generally she thinks it makes no more sense than gravity, but is just as escapable. But when in the midst of crisis the institutional funders continue to operate as though they haven’t heard a thing the operating nonprofits have been saying, maybe it’s time to question the entire structure.
